Soul Night Success

A great night was had by all at the Dumfries Soul Night organised by Karen Corder on 28 January 2012.

A huge turn-out of  ‘Soulies’ all enjoyed the 7 different DJs from across the UK providing a fabulous evening of non-stop music.

Karen’s efforts raised £700 for The RAP Foundation. Linda Barr was delighted to receive Karen’s donation to RAP, thanking her and her team for providing such a great night and a big support for RAP.

Karen said “I’ve known Linda since school days and have been amazed at her and RAP’s efforts in helping disadvantaged young people with disabilities in Romania.  We have a big following in our Soul Music group and I thought that we’d maybe do something to help these youngsters.  We had a great night just before New Year and I’m delighted that we have managed to raise so much money.  Everyone’s looking forward to our next RAP Soul Night!”

Receiving the donation from Karen, Linda said “What a fantastic effort by Karen and all of her Soul Music friends.  There were people from all over the UK and we even had some RAP supporters who enjoyed their first Soul Music experience! Karen’s amazing efforts has provided enough to pay for 15 young people to go to the beach later this year and enjoy a bit of sun and fun for a week, feeling the sand between their toes. We are so grateful for Karen thinking of the youngsters in Romania and helping so much to make this year’s seaside holiday take place. “

Please contact us if like Karen, you think you could help RAP in its efforts to improve the lives of young people with disabilities in Romania.
