Professor Mike Kerr named as an Ambassador for Epilepsy



 Professor Mike Kerr given prestigious international honour. Professor Mike Kerr, a top psychiatrist and researcher, has been given a prestigious international honour in recognition of his work in the field of epilepsy and learning disabilities. Professor Kerr has been named as an Ambassador for Epilepsy. The award is handed out to just 12 people every two years by the International League Against Epilepsy (ILAE) and the International Bureau for Epilepsy (IBE) in recognition of outstanding personal contributions that advance the cause of epilepsy. Professor Kerr has provided RAP with expert clinical opinion & has actively promoted the recognition of the human rights of our young people in Romania. 

 On the 15th July 2014 at the  European meeting of the International Association for the Scientific Study of Intellectual Disability in Vienna, Professor Kerr presented a paper called:Responding to the needs of people left within institutions – A lesson from Bucharest (authors M Kerr and C Yeoh)
